1. Agreement and authority

These terms are between AliceKnowsAPlace LTD, company number 17377232, and the restaurant business named in the application. The individual applying or using the portal confirms that they are at least 18 and authorised to bind or act for that business.

Approval is discretionary. An application, invitation or account does not guarantee publication, recommendation placement, bookings, revenue or continued access.

2. Portal access and account security

Use a current work email, keep access links and devices secure, and tell Alice promptly about unauthorised access or a change in your authority. Portal access is personal to the approved representative and must not be shared outside the restaurant business.

A group account may manage more than one approved site. Each site remains a distinct restaurant record, and Alice may require separate verification when sites, ownership or authorised contacts change.

3. Restaurant information

You must provide information that is accurate, current and not misleading. This includes trading details, addresses, opening information, prices, booking links, dietary options and accessibility features. Update or correct material changes promptly.

Do not describe allergen safety, dietary suitability or accessibility more strongly than you can support. Diners are told to confirm critical requirements directly with the restaurant, but that does not remove your responsibility for information you submit.

4. Images, trademarks and other content

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Alice a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, resize, crop, adapt and display it as needed to operate and promote Alice, the restaurant profile and relevant recommendations.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for submitted names, logos, descriptions and images, including permission relating to identifiable staff or guests. Do not upload confidential material or unnecessary personal data. Alice may reject or remove content that creates legal, privacy, safety or quality concerns.

5. Review, publication and recommendations

Partner changes remain private until Alice reviews them. Alice controls the public catalogue, presentation, recommendation logic, ranking and editorial standards. We may verify information using public sources or contact you for evidence or clarification.

Alice may correct formatting, reject a change, show information from another reliable source, or remove a listing. Partner status does not buy favourable ranking and must not be presented as an endorsement.

6. Acceptable use

You must not submit false reviews or claims, impersonate another business, infringe rights, upload malware, scrape or overload the service, bypass access controls, attempt direct access to the public restaurant catalogue, or use portal information to build a competing dataset.

7. Commercial and analytics features

There is currently no charge to apply or manage an approved restaurant profile. Any future paid analytics, insight, advertising or commercial service will require separate clear terms, pricing and acceptance before charges apply. These Partner Terms do not commit either party to such a service.

8. Suspension and ending access

Either party may end portal access. Alice may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, verification, legal compliance, misleading information, inactivity or breach of these terms. Ending access does not necessarily remove factual restaurant information from Alice.

Personal data is handled under the Privacy Policy. Content licences end when the relevant content is removed, except for restricted backups, legal records and material already incorporated into non-infringing service records where continued retention is lawful.

9. Responsibility and liability

Alice will provide the portal with reasonable care and skill but does not promise uninterrupted access, publication, a particular ranking or commercial results. Each party remains responsible for losses it causes through breach of these terms, negligence or unlawful conduct.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, opportunity or goodwill. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. General terms

Alice owns its service, software, brand and recommendation systems. These terms do not create an agency, franchise, partnership or exclusivity arrangement. Neither party may represent that it can bind the other except as expressly agreed.

We may update these terms for legal, security or product reasons and will give reasonable notice of material changes. English law governs these terms and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
